AR Manual Bag Measure

Developed an augmented reality–based manual baggage measurement system using Unity3D, focused on enabling users to accurately calculate the dimensions and volume of physical objects through interactive AR-based measurement tools. The application was designed as a practical volume-measurement solution for mobile platforms, allowing users to manually define object boundaries in real-world space while receiving real-time spatial measurements and volume calculations.
The project involved implementing a Manual Cuboid Volume Measurement System within an augmented reality environment, where users could interactively position and adjust measurement points around an object to generate accurate 3D volume estimations. A key part of the development process included advanced plane identification techniques and depth-data management systems to ensure stable environmental tracking and reliable object placement across varying surfaces and lighting conditions.
To improve measurement accuracy and spatial consistency, I engineered strong mesh-generation algorithms that dynamically adapted based on the phone’s orientation and positional tracking within the AR environment. These systems helped create stable geometric representations of detected spaces and allowed the application to maintain reliable measurements even during continuous camera movement and environmental changes.
The application also incorporated mathematical modeling techniques to retrieve accurate spatial data and calculate object dimensions and cuboid-based volume estimations in real time. Significant focus was placed on refining positional calculations, coordinate transformations, and measurement stability to improve the precision of the generated volume data while maintaining a smooth and user-friendly AR experience.
This project demonstrated my ability to work with advanced augmented reality systems beyond traditional visualization use cases, combining Unity3D development, depth-data processing, mesh generation, spatial tracking, mathematical algorithms, and real-time measurement workflows to create a functional AR utility application capable of solving real-world item and baggage volume measurement problems.
